Most of us will have to deal with the death of a loved one. It will be a very stressful event, even if you have gone through it before or know it is coming. Everyone experiences grief when a loved one becomes terminally ill or after they have died. Grief is a complex process that will involve many stages and is associated with the coming and going of many emotions. It is an adaptive and healthy reaction to loss.
For most, grief can be managed with the support of family, friends, and faith and some simple steps. For others it can result in a major emotional crisis that requires counseling or other outside help, even medication at times. Occasionally, grief will persist and become a major hurdle to moving on with your life.
